Gladys Jakachira, born and raised in Zimbabwe and now residing in the United States, is a distinguished alumna of the University of Zimbabwe and Central Michigan University. She brings a wealth of leadership experience, enriched by an MBA, to her professional pursuits. Her academic achievements are a reflection of her profound grasp of intricate business dynamics and her skill in navigating these realms. Married and a mother of three children, Gladys balances her professional life with a rich family life.
Gladys has worked as a corporate banker, data manager and in strategic sourcing. She was also part of a team that came up with a monthly magazine for kids with content provided by kids. The magazine named “Power Kids’ was in print for over a year. She brings over 11 years of experience in the healthcare sector, with a specialization in Hospice nursing at Vitas Healthcare. Her work also includes supporting children with special needs at Phillips Rock, a role she undertook through Brightstar, and her involvement with Novacare Services. This is a testament to her deep-seated compassion and empathy. Additionally, as a co-founder of Agape Marriage University, she extends her nurturing ethos to family dynamics and relationship support.
As a board member of BeingAfrican, Gladys is more than a figurehead. She is a driving force, integrating her multifaceted skills in business development, healthcare, and cultural advocacy to curate impactful programs. Besides guiding strategies, her leadership embodies the mission of BeingAfrican – To connect Africans worldwide through sharing, embracing, preserving and celebrating diverse African cultures.
